The issue that brought Disq down was that something is spamming it and filling up the storage, 350GB of text only posts filled up the database in a manner of a couple weeks since I last vacuumed it. To avoid that issue I'd have to be active enough on fedi to run database maintenance every week, and that's at odds with how I've been lowering my fedi usage and focusing on my work and irl social life.

My plan will most likely be that when I have the energy to deal with fixing Disq, to bring it back up and fix it for a couple weeks so folks can migrate their accounts off, and then pull the plug

I probably won't have the energy to do that for a few days.

I wanna be done with adminning, please understand and give me that space.

I’m doing the “Pixel Art Master Course” from Udemy (I’ve bought it on a sale for like 10$, there’s something on sale on there every now and then so you might check other courses too).

Basic shading part done, now I’ll do a brick for @bl00d in similar style as the cube, then I’ll see what next.

The plan is to make a 88x31 banner for yourwalls.today eventually, like a brick wall with blood on it or something.

Ok so permissions are three octal digits (there's a fourth one but don't think about it, it has the weird permissions), every digit is three bits (since it's octal) and each bit represents a permission: execute is 1, write is 2, read is 4, so 7 is rwx, 4 is r--. Then you have the three digits, the first one is for the owner user, the second one is for the owner group, the last one is for all the rest (root obviously can read and write anything). And directories need execute bit set because for directories it means "allowed to ls basically"
