Yeah I'm not sure the added complexity is worth it. Perhaps it is worth changing the core of EVM to something more "standard" so that people can write their contracts in whatever rust or golang they want. But maybe something stupid like extending webassembly with a bunch of autoimported global functions would be a better solution.
