You know swiss knives, right? Imagine if you took that to the absolute limits, and your swiss knife had everything from a cup holder to a nuclear reactor. That's kinda what emacs is. @lhp@mastodon.social had an issue: they needed to cut a slice of cheese. The chosen solution was quite simple: use the forge inside the emacs swiss knife and use it to make a knifeblade without a handle to cut the cheese with. Hope this made it that much more confusing.

Yeah the plan is that now companies will be either forced to delay their product or go through with the AI replacements. And if AI replacements are worse than the replaced human, the upper management are more likely to notice that now that there isn't a human expert to fix and finetune the output or if the products are received worse by the general public. Same logic with the writers strike and actors strike etc etc

IDK about voice acting, but usually the AI replacements don't delete the entire department but replace it with a super downsized team operating the AI. (Attempts I've seen that try to do management<->completely-AI-department have been usually walked back pretty quick after implementation.) What the strike should achieve is that there isn't even that downsized team available.

bruh wtf. The industrial-technological system may survive or it may break down. If it survives, it MAY eventually achieve a low level of physical and psychological suffering, but only after passing through a long and very painful period of adjustment and only at the cost of permanently reducing human beings and many other living organisms to engineered products and mere cogs in the social machine. Furthermore, if the system survives, the consequences will be inevitable: There is no way of reforming or modifying the system so as to prevent it from depriving people of dignity and autonomy.
Brown sugar was originally just "second batch" (usually cane) sugar made out of leftover molasses (it's syrupy goo you get as a side-product in refining sugar), so it ended up with more non-sucrose stuff left in it. Nowadays, the sugar production is good enough that we get most of the sugar out in the "first batch", so store-bought brown sugar is usually created by mixing a bit of molasses into refined white sugar, especially if you live in a beet sugar country. You can probably still get "traditional" brown sugar as well, just might require more searching.
Brown sugar, due to it having more non-sugar stuff, has some extra micro-nutrients, usually iron, while white sugar has basically nothing. However, nowadays you usually get your micros from other food you consume anyways, so brown sugar is pretty much just about having a different taste. If the brown sugar at your market is truly just "fantasy" with brown coloring instead of molasses, you can try getting molasses, it'll probably be harder to find, but (I think) more likely to be legit, and you'd end up in the control of the flavor much more than just with brown sugar.
