just to correct the “what’s the point” premise a bit: as a chick in her 40s, many people in their 20s flirt with me. Even outside queer spaces. Shit, as a cishet guy in his twenties a couple decades ago I did this myself lol

I want to suggest your thoughts are deeply rooted in misogyny, even if you are not aware of it. The idea that a woman at 40 loses value is deeply patriarchal and is used as a tool to oppress women by reducing their value. I don’t think you are doing this on purpose but you are reinforcing a flawed belief that women lose value as they age.

niri is nice because you can rely almost entirely on muscle memory. you can 100% predict where windows will spawn, where your actions will move them, and which window you will focus when switching between them.

alt+(shift+)tab on the other hand is a far less ergonomic long list of windows that is reordered whenever you switch focus. with multiple displays niri also has independent scroll planes on each one, which floating WMs generally don’t do. so you can use different monitors for different contexts and keep them cleanly separated.
