yes its taste is pretty meh, it's the aftertaste or something in that minute afterwards that hits me hard. something can be both a fruit and a vegetable (tho i wouldn't call avocado a vegetable myself)
avocado is such a fruit, it's like a teto pear filled with slop. best part about it is that like a minute after i eat it i get this primal urge to eat more avocado that nothing can quench except more avocado which creates an infinite spiral of avocado until i realize whatever food i wanted to make with them is gonna have to wait because I have no more avocado

Nah, everyone's just too lazy so they reach for the most painful option possible. Or they just add Anubis without checking if it would even improve anything -- if you aren't being hit by those crawlers more than normal HTTP traffic, you don't need Anubis.
you're supposed to first manually ban scrapers that don't lie in their user agents yourself, ban IP ranges that misbehave very much, and then when you're actively being DDOSed by AI crawlers from all over the globe that pretend to be web browsers, you add Anubis or CloudFlare's infinite maze or whatever
Anubis basically just checks if the User-Agent that your client sends looks like a web browser in which case it gives the challenge. If it's something like curl/whatever, it just gives you the data, so if I configure a user-agent switcher to always give a UA that doesn't say "Mozilla/5.0 Chrome/123.412 Opera/1231313 KHTML/123" or whatever nonsense they send nowadays, I should be good
anubis has one of those "badges" saying "enbyware" in its readme, that post was from the darker side of fedi, it just has stuck in my head rent-free
ok but real talk, how hard would it be to make your web browser serve a non-Mozilla UA for a configurable list of anubised sites. Surely, 99.99% percent of Anubis users don't do any UA sniffing past whatever anubis does
enbyware is just stuck in my mind ever since someone made a post saying "when will a project end up labeling itself as 'trannyware'"
AP implementations are like programming languages. There's only 1) bad ones and 2) ones that nobody uses.
