stuff like 3D renderer software plugins might be written in python, I believe Blender has such feature and I wouldn't be surprised whatever they use in house would have some scripting to automate tedious things. This kinda fits the convenience script category but it is somewhat complex

This is from me reading half of a long ass cohost post ages ago: the staff had a tendency to just post instead of working on stuff, so they never actually implemented any monetisation and ran out of money.
