rbenv maybe overrides some environment variables? Like CC so it won't try to use clang and instead wants g++

        @eris idk what u mean

        ive checked the env vars , nothing like what u said

        also , rvm , another ruby version manager , fails in the same way , while system ruby is just fine

        its very weird behaviour , idk

          Is rbenv a fedora specific thing? If it isn't, then it probably won't be installing system packages for you automagically (which, IMO, is a bad thing in any case).

          Try installing glorious GNU g++ instead and see if that helps.

                    That sounds like C not C++. <stdbool.h> or add a -std=gnu23 (or -std=gnu2x depending on how old your compiler is).

                          @eris yes , but the problem is , running bundle install with systemwide ruby works , the errors only show up when using a local version . its just weird

                            Maybe there's some /etc/ruby/bundle.cfg that gets applied to your system ruby but not to your user ruby.
