this HEMA club in Japan is correctly demonstrating what I practice as well, called “harnischfechten“. the techniques aim to kill your armored opponent by targeting weak spots like the armpit or neck.
buhurt is not HEMA, but a modern form of armored combat that is more about bashing each other until one fighter is unable to keep going. I poke fun at buhurt for not being historically accurate like HEMA but I have respect for the insanity of the blunt force trauma they put themselves through.
