well, I've just been informed that the result of my continued advocacy to not have Fosstodon dot org continue to be a Nazi bar has resulted in... the new mod team silencing my replies, and those of at least one other critic.

I pushed so hard for the mod team there to clean up their shit because I don't want an instance of several thousand people to become a pariah on the fediverse.

but now? nah. for all you instance owners out there: defederate the fuck out of fosstodon. the new owner and mod team aren't interested in hearing criticism, just in painting themselves as the victims who oopsie-doopsie keep platforming fascists.

                    The number it links to is the Trans Helpline. This is likely a right wing attempt to try to flood and overwhelm the hotline and hurt trans people.

                    Please be careful and check on this before you share them. And if you see an account for a Jeras Ikehorn which seems to be bridged here from Bluesky, know this is the second time in several weeks they have blatantly shared misinformation that harms trans people.

                        Last note - the fascist mod wasn’t removed, he just deleted himself off the internet completely, including that reddit account that lead to all of this.

                        Those who wanted to #fediblock fosstodon just because of the mod could still proceed with it if they wanted, because the rest of administration stayed either completely silent or openly endorsed the fascist. The situation isn’t fixed at all, they didn’t own up to their mistakes, and didn’t even apologize for complete failure to keep their community safe. Apparently it’s not their goal and “no politics” rule (which is a huge red flag if not a dogwhistle) still stands even when they have a fascist mod.

                        Now it’s time for me to stop following all of this and return to what I do best - touching computers and making my stupid gay shitposts :neofox_catmode:

                          #fediblock will commence in 24h if the action isn’t taken and public apology isn’t provided.

                          I recommend #fediadmin-s to look into that and make a decision as well. This is a dangerous precedent and how fedi reacts is important.
