there is mrustc which doesn't do any kind of borrow checking or anything useful iirc, it assumes the code is correct and just compiles it to machine code (and they only promise that they'll compile specific rustc releases correctly iirc)

can onramp get you to a working gcc without ever having to touch the hex2bin tool? i don't see why you'd ignore already existing tools that implement the steps you need to get to rust. rust compiler in assembly isn't an improvement over a rust compiler in c++

@eris i just think itd be cool to not depend on a completely unrelated compiler toolchain . what i mean is , itd be cool to get to a rust-only bootstrapped system without having gcc laying around as well
